San Marino, September 3rd,  2021 – On its National Day, the Republic of San Marino celebrated 1721 years since its foundation. H.E. Ambassador Marcello Celestini, on behalf of  H.E. the Lieutenant of Grand Master Fra’ Marco Luzzago, sent his most heartfelt congratulations to the Most Excellent Captains Regent.

Diplomatic relations between the Order of Malta and the Republic of San Marino were formalized on 6 July 1935.

In 1985, on the fiftieth anniversary of the Concordat, the High Parties agreed to raise their respective diplomatic representations to the rank of embassy.
