San Marino, 2-3 July 2025. <\/b>His Eminence Prince and Grand Master Fra’ John T. Dunlap paid a state visit to the Most Serene Republic of San Marino accompanied by His Excellency Clemente Riva di Sanseverino, Member of the Sovereign Council, and His Excellency Ambassador Giampaolo Cantini, Secretary General for Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
On the afternoon of Tuesday 2 July<\/b>, the convoy from Rome crossed the state border, where the flag of the Order had already been hoisted and displayed in all the most important buildings and public places of the Republic. Upon his arrival, the Grand Master was welcomed by H.E. Amb. Marcello Celestini<\/a>, H.E. Dr. Alessandra Albertini, Ambassador of San Marino to the Order, and Min. Plen. Silvia Berti, Director of Diplomatic Ceremonial of the Republic.<\/p>\n He then paid a private visit to the Church of St. John the Baptist (formerly the Oratory of Valloni), where he was welcomed by H.E. Bernardo Gambaro, Procurator of the Grand Priory of Lombardy and Venice, and by the staff of the Embassy of the Order to the Republic of San Marino. At the end of the visit, a stone plaque commemorating the visit was unveiled and blessed.<\/p>\n At the nearby art gallery, the Grand Master and his entourage were welcomed by Sister Maria Gloria Riva, of the Perpetual Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament<\/a>, who showed them the most important works of art housed there.<\/p>\n The Grand Master then went to the State Hospital to visit the gazebo where the AMPAM Project<\/a> for the prevention of cardiovascular risk is carried out. The project was explained to him by Dr Alessandro Benati, health manager of the project, and he was welcomed by Dr Mariella Mularoni, Secretary of State for Health and Social Security, who was introduced to him by Dr Claudio Vagnini, Director General of the ISS – Institute for Social Security; Mr Manuel Canti, Administrative Director of the ISS, Dr Claudio Bertolini, Director of Health Activities at the ISS, Dr Pierluigi Arcngeli, Director of the Territorial and Social-Health Department, Dr Gabriele Donati, Director of the Hospital Department, and Dr Roberto Bini, Director of the Cardiology Unit.<\/p>\n Finally, the Grand Master and his entourage went to the Embassy for refreshments organised by the Minister Counsellor.<\/p>\n On Thursday 3 July<\/strong>, after Holy Mass celebrated by the Rector of the Basilica del Santo<\/a> and a meeting with some ecclesiastical representatives, the Grand Master went to the Palazzo Pubblico<\/a>, where his arrival was greeted by three cannon salutes: the Captains Regent welcomed him and received military honours with him.<\/p>\n Upon entering the Palace, the Captains Regent presented the Members of the Government and, after a private meeting between the delegations, the two delegations proceeded to the Hall of the Great and General Council, where the Official Audience of the Captains Regent took place.<\/p>\n Subsequently, the Grand Master and the Captains Regent went to the Altar of the Volunteers in front of Palazzo Begni, where His Eminence laid a laurel wreath at the monument dedicated to the San Marino volunteers who participated in the campaigns for the Unification of Italy from 1843 until the First World War.<\/p>\n Finally, the Heads of State and their delegations entered Palazzo Begni, where His Excellency Luca Beccari, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Most Serene Republic of San Marino, and Clemente Riva di Sanseveirno, Member of the Sovereign Council of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, signed a bilateral cooperation agreement between the two Powers.<\/p>\n After a breakfast offered by the Most Serene Regency and military honours, the Grand Master took his leave with his entourage and the visit came to an end.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n\n\t\t
